The Association Between Nutrition Information Use and the Healthfulness of Food Acquisitions

This study constructs a Nutrition Information Use (NIU) index to summarize consumers’ use of nutrition information and to test for a correlation between consumers’ NIU and their purchases of more healthful food. It then explores how this correlation compares for food at home and food away from home.
