Overview
This Global Food Assessment (GFA) report focuses on food demand and availability in 83 countries. In 2026, an estimated 19.5 percent of the GFA population (884.4 million people) cannot afford the 2,100 calories per day needed for a healthy and active lifestyle, dropping to 11.4 percent of the GFA population by 2036. Gaps between local food availability and food demand indicate potential markets for U.S. agricultural products.
