Overview

The January 2018 outlook for both the U.S. and global rice markets is analyzed based on the latest projections contained in USDA's World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report.

Errata: On January 18, 2018, the Rice Outlook report was reposted to correct the sentence on page 5 (the last sentence before the subheading) that describes the medium- and short-grain ending stocks forecast. The correct description is “The 2017/18 medium- and short-grain ending stocks forecast was lowered 1.7 million cwt to 9.3 million cwt, down 19 percent from a year earlier.”
