The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) accounted for about 65 percent of total USDA food and nutrition assistance spending in FY 2022. Child nutrition programs including the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Summer Food Service Program, related State administrative expenses, and other related costs made up the next largest share at about 19 percent. Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) made up about 10 percent of spending. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) made up about 3 percent of spending.
