In fiscal year 2024, children accounted for about 39 percent of all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants, similar to fiscal year 2023. Children younger than 5 made up about 11 percent of participants in fiscal year 2024, while school-age children made up about 28 percent. Adults ages 18–59 represented 41 percent of SNAP participants in fiscal year 2024, similar to the 42 percent share in fiscal year 2023. The share of the SNAP caseload age 60 and older was about 20 percent in fiscal year 2024.
