Winfrey Norton is the outreach editor for the Food Economics Division. He is responsible for editing and managing the production of the division’s Amber Waves articles and Charts of Note.
Winfrey joined ERS in September 2020. He previously worked as a regional subject matter expert in economics at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), where he prepared economic analyses for environmental assessments, managed environmental studies, and researched issues pertinent to offshore energy development. Prior to working at BOEM, Winfrey worked with a team of analysts to assemble and distribute a variety of timely regional economic and financial analyses to key stakeholders as a research assistant at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Atlanta regional office. Winfrey began his federal public service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala focused on sustainable community tourism at a coffee cooperative.
Winfrey received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Millsaps College in 2009.
