The leading States in cash receipts for all agricultural commodities are California, Iowa, Texas, Nebraska, and Minnesota. However, the top commodity in each of these States varies. Dairy products comprised the largest share of 2010 cash receipts in California at $5.9 billion. In Texas and Nebraska, cattle and calves top the list of agricultural sales at $7.6 billion and $7.2 billion, respectively. The largest cash receipts in Iowa and Minnesota are due to corn sales with values of $8.0 billion and $4.0 billion, respectively. The data for this chart come from U.S. and State Farm Income and Wealth Statistics on the ERS website, updated February 2012.
