Thirty years of data from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and its predecessor the Food Stamp Program (FSP) show that the number of poor people and the number of SNAP/FSP participants continue to rise, even as the number of unemployed people levels off. This chart was published in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program briefing room on the ERS website in March 2011.
