Fifty-nine percent, or 40 minutes, of primary eating/drinking time took place in the individual's home or yard and 20 percent (13 minutes) in a restaurant or bar, followed by 7 minutes of primary eating or drinking occurring at workplaces. This chart appeared in How Much Time Do Americans Spend on Food?, EIB-86, November 2011.
