Brian Stacy is an economist in the Food Assistance Branch of the Food Economics Division at ERS. His research focuses on the interactions of SNAP participation, employment, and the macro-economy.
Brian is currently analyzing the effects of SNAP participation on labor supply; examining how States have changed SNAP policies affecting eligibility, transaction costs, and stigma; and studying the behavioral responses of individuals to enrollment in the UI and SNAP program.
Prior to joining ERS, Brian worked as a consultant for the World Bank.
Brian recently received his Ph.D. from Michigan State Univeristy, with a focus on labor economics and applied economics.
