Specialty crop producers using buy-up coverage make up the majority of the value of crops insured through FCIP

Organic farmers face different production challenges and costs than those who grow crops conventionally. Organic products also tend to bring higher prices than their conventional counterparts. In response to these differences, USDA has expanded risk management options over the years for organic producers.
