The Resource Requirements of Food Demand data product is documented in three technical bulletins that are listed in the References section. The data were first made public as a data product March 17, 2026 (version 1.0.0). The following updates were made for this data release, since the publication of Documentation for the Agri-Food Economic Data System (Ag-FEDS): Multiplier Model Applications:
- Updates to source data by publishing agencies
- Updates to input data used to estimate water data from Linking Resource Flows to Economic Sectors in the United States:
- The unit change to the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ Real Gross Domestic Product data (2017 million chain dollars) are incorporated.
- Alaska and Hawaii average temperature and precipitation data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are available and included.
