Ukraine an important exporter in several agricultural markets
Over the last 15 years, Ukraine has emerged as a major supplier to world markets for several agricultural commodities, including wheat, corn, sunflower oil, and rapeseed. Wheat is a traditional export, with annual shipments varying with crop size. For 2013/14 (July/June marketing year), Ukraine?s wheat exports are forecast at 10 million tons, or about 6 percent of world wheat trade. During the last decade, Ukraine?s corn production and exports have expanded, with 2013/14 (October/September) exports forecast at 18.5 million tons, making Ukraine the world?s third-largest corn exporter.
