Marcelo Castillo is a research economist in the Rural Economy Branch of the Resource and Rural Economics Division. He joined ERS in August 2016. Marcelo recently graduated from Purdue University with a Ph.D. in Economics. His fields of specialization are international migration, international trade, and labor economics; his research focuses on the effects of immigration on the receiving country's economic outcomes.
Marcelo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University, a Masters in Economics from Purdue University, and B.S. in Economics from Grand Valley State University.
