Briefly:

Ted is an Agricultural Economist in the Farm Economy Branch and has been a part of the Economic Research Service since 1989.  

As a member of the farm sector income team, Ted is responsible for ERS estimates and forecasts of State and U.S. value of crop and livestock production, crop insurance indemnities and premiums, and U.S. government direct payments to farm operators. 

Ted served for several years as coordinator for the annual Agricultural Income and Finance Outlook. In 2002, Ted received the USDA Honor Award for his service on the USDA/USDOJ Pigford Litigation Team.

 



Education:

Ted has a B.S. from the University of Florida, a M.S. from Mississippi State University, and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. All 3 degrees are in agricultural economics. Ted has an executive certificate in financial planning from Georgetown University. Ted taught classes in economics and finance for the USDA Graduate School for 10 years and a two-week course in agricultural finance at the Economic University of Sofia, Bulgaria.

 



Professional Affiliations:

Ted is a member of the American Economics Association, the Southern Agricultural Economics Association, and the Northeastern Agricultural Economics Association. He participates in the National Agricultural Credit Committee and the North Central Committee on Agricultural and Rural Finance.
