Briefly:Lewrene Glaser is the Deputy Director for Data Management in
ERS's Market and Trade Economics Division (MTED). In this capacity,
she is reponsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the
development and implementation of data and information systems for
the division.
Background:During 2010-11, Lewrene was part of MTED's Food and Specialty
Crops Branch and a member of the vegetables and specialties market
analysis team. Her worked focused on potatoes, mushrooms, and pulse
crops (dry beans, dry peas, and lentils). From 2001-09, she served
as MTED's Assistant Director for Communications. In that capacity,
she was economics editor for materials the division placed on the
ERS website. Prior to joining the Director's Office in 2001, she
conducted research on the marketing of organic foods in the United
States and on industrial (nonfood, nonfeed) uses of agricultural
commodities.
Education:Lewrene received her M.S. in agricultural economics from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985 and her B.S. in agronomy
from Colorado State University in 1979.
Professional Affiliations:She is a member of the Agricultural and Applied Economics
Association.
