Ilya Rahkovsky is a research economist in the Diet, Safety, and Health Economics Branch in the Food Economics Division. His research focuses on food access and consumer demand.
Ilya joined ERS in August 2010, upon completing his Ph.D. in economics. In addition to his work at ERS, he teaches statistics at Johns Hopkins University. Ilya previously worked in the forecasting department of JD Power and Associates.
Ilya has a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.
Ilya is a member of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) and the American Economic Association (AEA).
