Briefly:

Abebayehu Tegene is the Associate Director of ERS's Food Economics Division (FED). He was chief of the Food Markets Branch in the Food Economics Division from 2006 to 2011. He joined ERS in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where he was an Assistant Professor of Economics. His current research area includes consumer economics, food and nutrition economics, information issues, and consumers' acceptance of biotech foods.

Education:
Abebayehu received his Ph.D. in economics and M.S. in statistics, both from Iowa State University, Ames, IA. He received a B.S. in statistics from Addis Ababa University.
