FSUPRDAT.wk1 contains 21 tables that present statistics on the food
processing sector for the years 1980-1995 in the 15 republics of the
Former Soviet Union: Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova,
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia,
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, as well as in the
aggregate former USSR. For some years and republics data are unavailable.

Table 1 contains data on the production of vegetable oil.

Table 2 contains data on the production of butter.

Table 3 contains data on the production of granulated sugar.

Table 4 contains data on the production of canned goods.

Table 5 contains data on the production of vodka.

Table 6 contains data on the production of beer.

Table 7 contains data on the production of wine.

Table 8 contains data on the production of processed meat.

Table 9 contains data on the production of noodles/pasta.

Table 10 contains data on the production of whole milk and milk
products.

Table 11 contains data on the production of cheese.

Table 12 contains data on the production of sausage.

Table 13 contains data on the production of confectionery products.

Table 14 contains data on the production of margarine.

Table 15 contains data on the production of bread and bread
products.

Table 16 contains data on the production of groats.

Table 17 contains data on the production of flour.

Table 18 contains data on the production of tea.

Table 19 contains data on the production of ice cream.

Table 20 contains data on the production of non-alcoholic
beverages.

Table 21 contains data on the production of mineral water.

The data generally include total output from both state and non-state food
processing enterprises. As much of the data, such as flour and bread
output, were considered state secrets, there are many gaps for the smaller
republics, particularly in back years. It should be noted that in most
cases the total output of meat considerably exceeds the figure for
processed meat output.

The primary source materials used for these tables are the official
annual statistical yearbooks of the former Soviet Union and the
fifteen republics.
