Veterans, Reservists, and Military Families Data and Research Workshop
The Economic Research Service and the USDA Veterans, Reservists,
and Military Families Task Force have partnered with the Military
Family Research Institute at Purdue University to convene the
"Veterans, Reservists, and Military Families (VRMF) Data
and Research Workshop." The goal is to bring
together federal data working groups, government researchers, and
their academic collaborators to improve our common understanding of
critical demographic and socioeconomic trends affecting the VRFM
population, identify key data and research gaps, and begin
developing strategies to address them.
The workshop is inspired by the high priority that the Obama
Administration and USDA have placed on providing support for the
VRMF population and the need for data and research to inform that
effort. We expect that the workshop format will encourage
dialogue among the diverse groups that have formed around VRMF
issues and to provide a structure for leveraging new data sharing
opportunities and research collaborations.
Registration for this event is now closed.
The workshop will take place on September 26,
2012, at the Patriots Plaza III conference and training
facilities, 355 E St. S.W., Washington DC, from 8:00 a.m. until
4:30 p.m. All registered attendees should please bring a
picture ID and arrive early to allow time to pass through security
and to check-in.
