Diet and Health: Food Consumption and Nutrient Intake Tables

Nutrient Intake

Table 3 shows the proportion of consumers meeting the recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans for nutrient intake. The proportion of consumers meeting the recommended fat intake increased from 13 percent in 1977-78 to 37 percent in 1994-96. Only 6 percent of female adults over 60 met the recommended calcium intake in 1994-96.
