Diet and Health: Food Consumption and Nutrient Intake Tables

Nutrient Intake

Table 7 shows the percentage of calories from total fat during 1977-96 and the percentage of calories from saturated fat during 1994-96. Over time, individuals have been consuming foods containing less total fat. This dietary improvement is more remarkable for food prepared at home than food eaten away from home. Still, individuals ate too much total fat and saturated fat.
