This data product provides users with comprehensive statistics on fresh and processed vegetables and melons in the United States, as well as global production and trade data for these sectors. It harmonizes and integrates data from the ERS market outlook program with data collected by different Federal and international statistical agencies to facilitate analyses of economic performance over time, and across domestic and foreign markets.
Data are provided for more than 30 individual fresh and processed products. Data for commodity aggregates are also presented for users to be able to examine the economic performance of a sector relative to industry benchmarks, both national and international. ERS has previously published these data in conjunction with the bimonthly ERS report Vegetables and Melons Outlook and in the annual Vegetables and Melons Yearbook and several commodity-specific data products.
Data
The Yearbook section provides data on a calendar-year basis for fresh and processed products. Data for commodity aggregates are also presented in this section. The Data by Commodity section offers more detailed data, including State-level statistics, for single industries on a marketing-year basis. Data in both sections are monthly and/or annual depending on the data series.
