ERS's Program of Research on the Economics of Invasive
Species Management (PREISM), an annual competitive grant
and cooperative agreement program that focuses on national
decisionmaking concerning agricultural invasive species,
held its 2009 workshop on October 22-23.
The workshop brought together researchers, program administrators,
policymakers, and other stakeholders concerned with the
management of invasive species.
The workshop featured a panel discussion of the H1N1
influenza involving Dr. Jürgen Richt of Kansas State
University, Dr. Gregory Gray of the University of Iowa,
and Dr. John Korslund of USDA's Animal and Plant Health
Inspection Service. In addition, Dr. Ravi Singh of the
International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT)
discussed Ug99 wheat stem rust.
As a public service, the workshop proceedings will soon be available as a WEBCAST provided by Blue Sky Broadcast, a private provider not affiliated with ERS. We do not endorse any products, services or views that may be referenced on this site.
