Briefly
Michael LeBlanc is the Associate Director in ERS's Food Economics Division. The Division covers a broad array of research areas, including food consumption, diet and health, food safety, food manufacturing, wholesale and retail food sectors, food price behavior, and Federal food assistance programs. A consistent theme across these diverse topics is the well-being of consumers, particularly low-income Americans. Background
During 2000-2001, Michael served as a Senior Economist on the President's Council of Economic Advisors with responsibilities in the areas of agriculture and energy. Education
Michael received a Ph.D and an M.S. degree in resource economics from Cornell University and a B.S. degree from Michigan State University. Publications
